![]() GRANTSSpecial Initiatives Strategic Alliances Legacy Foundation understands that Project 100% can only be successful if leaders in Lake County collaborate successfully. We are developing and participating in strategic alliances to model effective collaboration that supports the improvement of educational attainment in our community. South Shore Connection BRIDGING RESOURCES FOR CHILDREN’S SUCCESS Legacy Foundation, Lake Area United Way, and Foundations of East Chicago have worked together to bring nFocus Software to Lake County. This web based data collection and data sharing strategy enables our community to improve communication between schools and nonprofit organizations serving students and their families. They can share data in real time, turbo charging their efforts to help children be successful in school and in life. This “connection” has the power to keep caring adults on the same page about what is happening daily with an individual child. This simple but critical capacity to share information will help our community achieve our goals in educational attainment and job readiness. Gary Education Leadership Council As a member organization, Legacy Foundation participated in the creation of the “Multiple Education Pathways Blueprint”, a community plan designed to prevent students from dropping out and recover students who have already dropped out. Legacy will continue to be involved in the implementation of key strategies outlined in the Blueprint. The Gary Community Schools identifi ed nFocus as one of ten specifi c strategies for “The Secondary Experience”; fostering connectedness between community support and in-school activities and performance.
