  GRANTSSpecial Initiatives  It Takes a Village to Raise a Child COFFY (Community Organizations for Families and Youth) is comprised of local organizations that have come together with an agenda to empower families and youth. As a committed group of public service organizations, COFFY’s common goal is to help agencies build a stronger foundation and increased capacity to serve youth and families residing in Gary, Indiana. COFFY’s Mission is to build an active network that strengthens community organizations which provide opportunities for the healthy development of families and youth in the City of Gary. COFFY’S Goals • To address the needs of youth and families by ensuring access to quality services. • To strengthen organizations serving youth and families through collaborations. • To improve the quality of life in the City of Gary. Legacy Foundation is an active member of the COFFY collaboration, supporting its work in Education, Health and Life Skills, Fitness and Recreation, and the Arts.
