  GRANTSSpecial Initiatives Offering Opportunities for Higher Education One Step at a Time INCREASE SCHOLARSHIPS Building on a base of 28 scholarship Funds and the awards made to multiple communities in Lake County annually through Legacy Foundation, we encourage donors and other organizations to increase the availability of local scholarships for post-secondary education for those populations most at risk of not being able to afford college. We will also work to make it easier for families to access information about all local scholarships. INCREASING FINANCIAL LITERACY FOR COLLEGE Legacy Foundation, in partnership with The National Center for College Costs, provides workshops in Lake County. These free workshops help parents and students learn about the admission process, how to estimate costs using a College Costs Estimator and how to cover the cost of education beyond high school.
