Legacy Foundation is proud to sponsor this unique teaching tool for Northwest Indiana educators and schoolchildren. Titled The Legends Compass: A Collection of True Tales for Young Adventurers and Dreamers, this project enhances the teaching of local and Indiana history in area classrooms. The Legends Compass was created through community partnership, and is accessible to schools throughout the region via this website. Teachers are welcome to download information and coloring pages, with accompanying activities, about each of the innovators who have been inducted into the South Shore Wall of Legends. A limited number of print copies of the full activity book are available by calling (219) 736-1880. The Legends Compass activities meet Indiana Academic Standards for fourth grade for Reading and Social Studies.
